    1. I love how the swan is bathed in a sea of green. Your right, that is an unusual color for water (thanks to the reflection of the trees I assume) but that is def. what makes this picture for me. Also it's nice that the swan is looking directly into the camera. Good shot. ~Becky

    1. I agree, the beautiful green reflections really make the photo along with the rippled movement following the swan. Gorgeous

      Kathy,

A couple of aspects I like about this., First, the composition is just right. plenty of room to swim. Secondly, the water in the FG holds the reflection and the water in the BG creates a very nice shallow DOT to set off the swan.

      Kathy,

I've been meaning to comment on the lovely shot for awhile and finally I'm getting round toit. I just love the color of the water and the quality of the light in this shot. Your exposure choices worked fabulously. Several things that I'm really enamored of, besides those previously mentioned, are the wonderful reflection and the wake and ripples fanning away and behind the swan. The wake acts as a wonderful framing device for the swan As Kevin has mentioned your dof works marvelously to blur the bg and help highlight the swan. One thought on comp from me is that a bit tighter on the right side, say 3/4 to an inch would move the swan to a thirds intersection and make the open area left appear more spacious. Really nicely captured image.

    1. This is a perfect capture of the grace and strength of a swan and the reflection is beautiful and the parting of the water really shows the motion...swimming towards the viewer. A very strong part for me also is that the reflections are so interesting, more than just the swan, and they give a visual depth that is knockout.

      Super shot.
