This works. the fog, muted color and strong tree to the left side all bring this together. May would like a bit more room at top and right as the barn really fills the frame.

I like this one a lot. I do agree about the spacing on the top and right. Nice job!

Well if its a barn and its in color, its got to be red. The misty scene and the red barn work nicely. A different crop might be in order, as stated. Nice image!!

Darren, I'm going to have to go against everyone on this one. I love the mood that you captured with the fog. I think that the composition is right on. The tree anchors the left side of the frame very nicely. If there was more room on the right of the frame, the composition would be very unbalanced with empty space. I really like this!

I like the comp overall, the verticals on the Barn are all leaning to the left. try rotating 2.5 or 2.6 degrees CW and tell me what you think.

I like the muted colors. the fog is a bonus. i also like the yellow in the grass poking up through the snow. they add a nice color contrast. I think this barn would make a great seasonal subject. So we can see it change throughout the year. Nice job.

Buddy, thanks for the input. I do have more room up top and some slight wiggle room to the right. I have more room to the left side but felt the tree looked good close to that side. I waffled some on the crop but eventually settled on positioning the point of the barn at roughly a thirds intersection. I could provide some breathing room though as you suggest.
Kelly, thanks for the kind words and the thoughts on the position in frame. I've addressed that in my reply to Buddy above.
Mike, thanks for your interest and your kind remarks.
Kevin, glad you enjoyed the image and I thank you for your enthusiastic response.
Sam, thanks so much and I'm thrilled that the image works as is for you. Glad that we're all "working" together again. Please give your sweetheart a hug and a hello for me.
David, thanks much for taking the time to view and comment. You've got a good eye. A slight correction was indeed in need (say that five times quickly). I so appreciate forthright and informative input. I do hope you'll continue to find time to frequent the site.
Hey Kevin, thanks for viewing and commenting. I've had my eye on this barn for about 8 months and I have several other shots but I've been waiting for fog. I'll see if any of the previous shots are worthy of the contest. As always I appreciate your input.
Hi Marcie, Glad you like the shot and it's nice that we are all back and helping each other again isn't it?
Thanks again to those that took the time to help me grow as an artist.
Darren
