For anyone living or vacationing near Southwest Florida this winter, the Lee County Library system has scheduled three seminars in Feburary and March to go with the theme for Feburary, which is photography. They will be at the Fort Myers Branch on State Route 80 3 miles East from the I-75 intersection.

I would like to invite anyone on this forum who could attend to be there. The seminars are free.

Feburary 21 is An Introduction to Digital Photography - It usually is basic for beginners about the terminology and possibilities of digital photography. We will try to discuss assessories as well as cameras this year. Questions and Answer period can range to anything. Feb 21 Saturday 2-4:30.

Feburary 28 is Advanced Photography for Film or Digital - All aspects of technique and tools are open for discussion - It can get as involved as the people in attendance desire.
It will be preceded by a discussion of the photos displayed by patrons during the month of Feburary at the Library. The photo discussion starts at 10 and the seminar afterwards about 11-12 until 2 - Send in a photo for display during the month.

March 6th - Digital Post-Processing. What to do after the shutter is pressed. Everything from basic computer skills to download and store images to extensive processing with various software packages. Discussion will include basic color and contrast adjustments; cropping for effect; montages; collages; inclusion or removal of objects; and anything the audience desires.

Thanks Jerry. Very generous. Sounds great. So far I have no plans to visit the area, but will keep this in mind. Hopefully some other members will be able to take advantage of this opportunity
