Dimage Z1 Movie Help

I have recently purchased the Dimage Z1 and I'm having problems view my movies correctly. The camera came with a software that converts your movies from the camera to anytype of format that you want, media player, etc. Well I can format them but when I view the video is small and not to clear. I used the 320 x 2?? for the size and 15 for the other option can't think of the name. If someone can help me I can email the video so you can see what I'm talking about.

Thanks,
Mag

hello, I just got a Z2 about 2 weeks ago, haven't used the movie function since I have a minidv camcorder. I will take some footage at your specs and see how mine comes out. I believe your resolution is 320x240 and the 15 means frames per second.
You can change the camera to take 640x480 at 30 fps which will drastically improve things at the price of file size. I'll check on it and let you know.

Most Digital cameras today have video as a function, but its very limited. From what you have stated, seems your shooting on the lowest quality, that probably why they look so small and probably jumpy.

As recommended before try upping your settings. Again this is not going to replace a camcorder, so dont expect that.

As for the conversion I am not much help there since I hardly ever use camera supplied software. Sorry...

I did some test on the default 320x240 @15fps and the size of my video is fine, I can see the image clearly. It is choppy but only becuase it is at half the fps as standard media, I think it's around 29.97 fps. I took some 320x240 @ 30fps and it was clear as day. Then tried some 640x480 @30fps and I must say I was impressed with the quality. It does take 800x600 but only at 15fps which really makes that resolution pointless to me. The only problem I found was that the camera recorded the shutter sound in the video which was very annoying, but hey it is a still camera so there's some tradeoff's.

For short fun videos I think I might use this instead of my zr camcorder because it is easy to transfer. It's so annoying to transfer digital video from my video camera, but maybe that's just me.
