Heya all,

I'm a recent member of the bytephoto forums and have come to use this photography forum more than any other. I've found that the layouts, member galleries, photo of the week, and assignments all to be great tools located on just one site. You guys have done a great job!

I've looked in the forums and haven't found this suggestion anywhere (but I'm sure it's been mentioned, I just haven't seen it)...

What about a photo of the month as well as your photo of the week? This could of course either be based on the winners of the POTW, the finalists of the POTW, or a whole new contest.

As well, perhaps some sort of POTW and POTM digital award picture so that the winners could proudly present them on their own sites if they have one.

This might be a good suggestion. However, there is a tread dealing with the question how are the photo's of the week selected (selected on basis of what, number of viewers, rates or are they picked random).
I think that first of all there should be a clear way of selecting the photo of the week.
When this is clear (and everyone agrees) we could have a photo of the month and even a photo of the year (perhaps on the front page of bytephoto?)

Anyway, I do agree about this site, it is a great site thanks to Paul and Steven (and ...?).

Yeah,

I was just reading about the issues related with the POTW. Unfortunate but true and important. I'm curious as to what and when that what will happen!

and yes a photo of the month sounds like a good idea to me…

Any thoughts on what photos should be candidates and how it’s finally determined would be appreciated
