a couple of suggestions
Hi Lamont. a couple of suggestions..
Fist on the selection. I would suggest using a layer mask to select the sky as opposite to magic wand. My usual workflow is to do a Se;ect>Color Range first, typically on 20-30 on the slider. Later, I create a layer mask based on that selection. Thata layer mask is fine tuned using a soft brush, until I have everything and a soft tansition.
Then you can paste a new sky (from another picture). Be careful to select a sky where the light more or less is consistent with the overall light of the photo. Use the layer maks from the first step to mask out everything but the sky (you will need to invert the layer mask)
The second option is to create a new layer ad fill it with the color of your preference. For a more realistic effect you may want to try a gradient from that color to transparent, with the clear part near the horizon. That caler can be blended using either color, soft light or normal options. The layer mask you created on the first step will be used over this layer to mask to hide everything but the sky (again you need to invert the layer mask).
I am sorry I cannot include pictures... I am at work and I do not have photoshop here.
