Hi dooce,
Thanks for the compliments and I'm glad you like the site.
To answser your question on "folders", no it's not possible under the free gallery offer, but the Premium Gallery offer allows the creation of private and public folders.

Hi Everyone
Very cool site - great effort guys.
OK I've just bought my first digital camera, Nikon Coolpix 3200, and decided I want to try this thing called photography lol
Have taken it on my walk the last two days so we can bond a little *insert wink* and simply at the point & shoot stage - but it feels good and I'm having heaps of fun.
Have uploaded some pics to my gallery and I'd really appreciate any tips and hints on what I could be doing. I've already learnt I need to look past the main focus and check the background
I was speaking to someone yesterday and saying the camera takes great pics, but they are just pics at this stage - no wow factor as yet - but I'll keep trying and see what I can produce.
Thanks for the opportunity to view the great pics in other galleries, there are some very talented people here - will be a great place to learn I think.
Cheers Julie

Jak, just looked at your gallery...
I love photos with depth and movement. The tree photo with the trunk starting in the lower right corner to the upper left moves the eye with it. The train tracks move your eye from the lower to the upper part of the frame. Well done. You have an eye for this thing called photography. I suggest to you and others to understand what I'm talking about...just visit the gallery in thumbnail form and watch your eye movement. Where the subject is dead center...nothing. Where there is depth, there is more movement.
Somethings do work dead center...if they make your eye move around the object because of detail, shadow, etc. Sometimes achieving this is difficult. But try different angles.
Have fun on your walks...its looks like a nice location.
Dave

uploading photos
Thanks for the all the info on this site. The site looks very good. I am a bit perplexed, though, on how I upload photos. I can't find help or documentation that explains it to me, not at least in a way I can understand it. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you. That was extremely helpful. I saw the upload dialog area as well this morning which I did not see before. I tried to upload a couple of images. I think the upload went okay. I don't see them in the galleries yet, but perhaps it takes a while for them to be published in the galleries. In any case, thanks again for the help and quick response !

The upload of photos takes only a few seconds and there is no need to wait for them to be published. There has obviously been some sort of error.
Please try again and let me know.
PS The photo files must be of .JPG format

Uploading Photos
Hello.
When I uploaded my first photo it went to "my gallery".
But when I uploaded my 2nd photo , it shows up in Members galleries and does not show up in My Gallery.
Why is that?
Thanks

When I try to upload , it defaults to Members Galleries with options for other galleries.
I wanted to just add the photo to my gallery.
How can I do this?
Thanks

I see the issue is that the 'Rose' photo has a user name name 'unregistered'. This is not normal. I've deleted it for now.
Could you try uploading again the 'rose' photo.
btw it's a nice shot !
The members galleries is the default location for uploading photos. They are automatically put in your gallery section, but only if the username is correct.

Hello everybody!
I'm new and I just uploaded a few photos to my gallery. Quite intuitive and easy process. These guys did a good job I'd say!
Best wishes,
Radu
