i have a canon digital ixus 800 is, but i would like to know if i can use an sdhc memory card in it

Canon isn't very clear on that subject. Their most recent user guide only says "This camera has been tested with memory cards through 2GB. Use of all memory cards cannot be guaranteed." They say the same thing on their on-line support FAQs.

2GB is the upper limit for regular SD cards, so they're saying that they haven't tested with SDHC cards.

You might try sending your question to Canon's on-line support to see if they have any more up-to-date information.
