Donation to Byte
Who has seen the little "ad" where you can support Byte by donating to it through PayPal?
My first reaction is I don't think I would do that when I consider the twilight time we had recently when the members were left to their own devices. Or when I consider how erratic getting winners up and final six up is. How non existent the photo of the month is, yet it's still up there as though it functions.
I'm devoted to this site - it's sort of like belonging to a slightly disfunctional family sometimes bt I value it. However, I don't think I'm ready to put my hand in my pocket, not until I feel more comfortable with how stable the site is and how stable the admin. situation is.
Paul, how would you feel about sharing with us your thoughts on what your hopes are for byte?
f the above things are being addressed?
I respect you, Paul. I'd like to hear from you if you feel like speaking.
Meanwhile, good luck with this.
Sheila.

This week is turning out to be a good example of lack of admin. follow through.
It's Thursday and already 8.30 pm in the UK and we still don't have the final six selected for last week.
I don't understand how they imagine people will donate to the site when this sort of thing is par for the course.
Pay no attention (and not many people are) I'm just having this conversation with myself

Sheila,
I agree that things have been a bit sleepy here of late. I think the down period is having a lasting effect on the health of the site.
I am happy that Paul is showing some presence around the site; that is reassuring. My bigger concern (above that of donations) is whether an extra moderator or two would be useful. There are talented photogs here who could pick up some slack as need be. That, I think, would definitely add some stability.

i've been watching this space with interest.
it's taking ages to connect (again).
are the cracks starting to reappear.
what if we all paid a donation and the site goes down permanently?
i for one dont have a pot to pee in so cant take the risk.

Disconcerting
So is this situation becoming par for the course? Does Paul have to many other commitments that prevent him from playing a more active role on the forum? Is it lack of interest? Whatever it is , it's disconcerting. I also really like this site and would hate to see it to go to the dogs.
