Congrats to Week 16 Winner?
I'm surprised to see how little congratulatory feedback there is to last week's winner.
Are we not offering our congratulations to those who are less well known here? I don't see most of the usual names stepping up with praise for this well deserved win. Many names are conspicuous by their absence. Are we only congratulating our "buddies"?
I hope not, because it will be a sad day for byte iif that's so.

I loved the shot and made that plain in my original post and I also voted for this submission. I somewhat resent being brought to task for not then adding a congratulatory note. I've not received any acknowledgement for my interest or the time I devoted to viewing and commenting Marion's image. Why did you not call him to task?

I hadn't thought that congratulations on a win was contingent on them being thankful that you critiqued the original.
I never think of that. I make comments, I hope they're appreciated but it doesn't matter to me at all if they say "thank you."
To me it's like giving someone a gift, I don't expect one back. I'm just giving the gift because I want to or they deserver it...whatever my reason. But my reason is never to expect to get one back.
Thanks for your input, Darren. I must say, you do give people feedback generously.
Sheila.

Sheila,
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I find it is more a matter of courtesy. When I give a gift I don't expect a return gift but I do expect a "Thanks for your thoughtfulness"
I'm also unsure how a "Thank You" is less important than a "Congratulations" as they are both a measure of courtesy and respect.
At any rate I'm probably gnawing on a rather small bone here and I apologize for my testiness. It's been a long day.
