Pippa, if you don't care about posting without exif data simply go to Save For Web - resize the image dimensions with 800 on the longest size and then adjust the quality of the image. Make sure jpeg is selected, hit ok. I usually rename it at this point as so and so "for web". Hit ok.
You will then be asked "do you want to save it" -0 select no, that way you have this one as a copy and the original of it remains intact.
Hope this helps, it's a really easy way to do it if you don't care about sharing exif.
Sheila

hi Sheila
i think its good to show exif. people have given me helpful comments by being able to see the data. and i do like to be able to see others. i know now that its uses a lot more file space.
at one time i had a lot of problems using the save to web method as i did not get an accurate rendition of colour. but i figure that was down to me having made some change in the settings somewhere along the line.
i have been told its better to use 'save as' and not save to web, and i dont remember why. But, if its your method, judging from your images, then it gives me more confidence to use 'save to web'.
thanks for telling me what you do - it opens up my options. what quaity do you select?
pippa
btw - apologies for not responding to this before now but the darling daughter has just returned for a couple of days from university and i'm making best use of the short time ive got with her. she's at the pub with her fiends right now, so i'm catching up here.
