Hi, do you know how to install a firmware update, and also if the the frimware update for the Coolpix 5400 has already been released (the one eith RAW mode)

I recently installed a firmware update on my 4500. It was a little complex, so I would be careful to follow the exact instructions provided with each fw update.

But, basically, I downloaded a zip file to my PC, expanded it, and copied the instructions-specified folder to a compact flash card. Then I put the CF card into the camera and turned it on in the specified manner. It detected the fw update on the card and asked me if I wanted to install it. I responded with a Yes selection and it did it.

It was version 1.2 and I got it here: http://support.nikontech.com/cgi-bi...p;p_cat_lvl1=23

There isn't much to it, I basically just got it to go through the upgrade process and see how it works.
