PNY Technologies & National Geographic Society Partnership

PNY Technologies Named A 'Mission Partner' And 'Flash Memory Of Choice' For National Geographic's Emerging Explorers Program Through 2010
PARSIPPANY, N.J. - October 24, 2007 - PNY Technologies® has teamed up with the National Geographic Society to be a Mission Partner and the "Flash Memory of Choice" of the Emerging Explorers Program through 2010, it was announced today. National Geographic Mission Partners are a select group of corporate partners whose business practices align with the Society's mission of inspiring people to care about the planet.

The three-year partnership kicks off with the introduction of a new line of PNY-brand high-speed flash memory products, including PNY's Optima Pro Secure Digital(TM) 133X Cards, Optima Pro CompactFlash(TM) 133X Cards, Optima Pro UDMA CompactFlash(TM) 266X Cards, SDHC(TM) Class 6 Cards and MicroSD(TM) Cards. These specially marked packages will bundle several value adds, including music downloads, images and videos and are available now.

"A key mission of National Geographic over the past 119 years has been to chronicle achievements of explorers," said Tony Gomez of PNY Technologies. "Recognized as the 'Flash Memory of Choice' for the Emerging Explorers Program, our new high-speed flash memory cards are able to perform in the most extreme explorer situations. From extreme cold to extreme heat, explorers will be prepared to capture the perfect moment every time."

National Geographic's Emerging Explorers Program recognizes and supports uniquely gifted and inspiring young adventurers, scientists, photographers and storytellers-explorers who are already making a difference early in their careers. To help the Emerging Explorers realize their potential, National Geographic awards each of them $10,000 for research and exploration. Each year up to 10 explorers are chosen from fields as diverse as anthropology, space exploration, mountaineering and music.

"The individuals selected to become Emerging Explorers represent the future of exploration and contribute to our understanding of the world and all that is in it," said Terry Garcia, National Geographic's executive vice president, Mission Programs. "Teaming up with organizations like PNY to help create awareness of our Emerging Explorers Program and fund the explorers' research and expeditions is an important step in our continuing efforts to inspire people to care about the planet."

PNY's new line of high-speed flash memory products are available today through photo specialty, "high-end niche" dealers, high-end department stores and select retailers.
