Inserting a Signature
A few people have asked how I inserted my signature into my posts this week, so I thought I’d pass along the trick. I’m using Photoshop CS3, so I’m not sure if it works with earlier versions of PS or Elements. The technique may vary with these versions.
1)Write the signature that you want to insert on a blank white sheet of paper (fairly large) with a black felt tip pen.
2)Scan the signature and import the image into Photoshop.
3)Crop the image to roughly the same size of the signature.
4)Under the “Edit” pull down menu, click on “Define Brush Preset”.
5)Name the “brush”. (I named mine “signature”…duh!)
6)Open the image you want to insert your signature.
7)Click on the brush tool, then use the pull down menu to find your new brush. It will have a number under it that was the size that you saved it as, but you should see the preview of it.
8)Set the FG color of your choice, and the brush size that is appropriate for your image.
9)Click once to place the signature where you want it.
10)VIOLA! You now should have a personalized, monogramed, unique, image!
You can also play with the opacity and blend modes just like any other brush in the pallet.
I hope this helps!
Sam
