Help needed for taking photos indoor using IXUS 65

I am fairly novice with digital camera. My last experience of my elder daughter concert was a totally disaster.

I know u need a SLR kind camera to take decent photos in low light & long distance.

My younger daughter concert is this coming weekend & hopefully I have a better luck than the last one.

Have anyone got a similar kind of camera as mine. What settings did u use? I don't expect great photos with my camera in that kind of situation.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated & thanks!

Here is where your going to get into problems. This camera has no shutter so you will have some shutter lag. I didn't see where this camera has AV mode which means aperture mode, but it does show that it has Manual mode. Depending on the ambiant light you will want to shoot wide open. You will want to be close to he subject because the largest aperture of the lens is 2.8. Thats what you will want to use as your aperture. (to let in more light) The problem if you want to zoom is the apertur will change automaticaly to 4.9 which will let in less light. so you will want to set your ISO to ISO 800 which is the highest ISO you have on that camera and try setting your aperture to F2.8 and shutter speed to 1/30 of a second. In order to keep the F2.8 do not zoom, from there play with your ISO and shutter speeds to properly expose for the ambiant lighting. I hope this helps
