Your recommendations of a camera. Quality and value.
Hello,
My first digital camera, which I currently use, is a Kodak EasyShare C340, and I absolutely abhor the quality of the photos.
It's very unlike what I HOPED to get from my digital camera: very crisp photos without halos/discolorations/pixelations/fuzziness/shakiness/double-images/etc.
So I thought I'd look for a photo forum and ask for peoples' advice.
I mean, I have literally seen photos on the internet that I could almost SWEAR are even MORE crisp than real life!! I've seen some pretty gorgeous stuff.
Photos that lack the kinds of problems my camera's results give me. The kinds of photos they make beautiful 1920x1200 desktop wallpapers out of.
If money is all there is to it, then that's fine, it means I can't afford the kind of camera those people use, but if there IS one for me out there, I'm all ears.
Quality and price are both an issue to me, so I'm HOPING, in the best case scenario, to find a camera that's a sort of gem, due to its quality AND value. Whatever comes to your mind that seems to fit that description.
Thanks a lot.
(If by any chance I put this thread in the wrong forum category, please move it or otherwise let me know)

Hello, I do not know what you want to spend, But I have a used panasonic fz 30 8 MP that I am going to sell...It is mint condition.
I just stepped up to a SLR...if you want to spend the money and do not mind playing with settings a friend of mine bought the Nikon D40x and loves it.
If you would like me to email you some shots from they FZ30 I can...
Cheers,
Joe

I have to say I just got a fz30 a few months ago to augment my s3 which is a great camera for work but far from fun. For the price it is hard to beat...ok, maybe impossible (I paid 300 for a new fz30) shooting in low light at 400 ISO, it does get a good amount of noise, but stepping down to 5mp when 400 is warranted takes care of most of it and shooting in raw and then using noise reduction software helps too.
I wish every camera had this good of a lens and while DSLR's are all the rage and certainly better sensors (bigger is better, so I now agree with my wife)
the FZ30 is a super camera for it's price range, easy to use, almost every function I ever need, awesome glass, and a price tag that doesn't make me get a nervous tick
