Greetings All
Hello All
My name is James, and I am a recent graduate in Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Toronto.
I stumbled upon this forum a few months ago, and have become fond of it ever since. Well, I registered for an account, and finally have been approved for posting here.
I look forward to sharing photographs and exchanging meaningful comments and suggestions, as there are much to learn from you all.
Cheers
James

Thanks for the welcome. I do have a couple of questions regarding the posting of photos:
1. How do I do it? Do I have to upload it to a external storage, and link it in the forums, or is there some space provided to me here?
2. If there is space provided, I probably should not fill it up by submitting full sized photos. What typical sizes are recommended?
3. What about licensing? Is there any way I can license my photos through the forums, or will I need to do that externally? If through the forums, how?
Thanks again
James

YOu do have free but limited space. My gallery is filled to the max at the moment.
Typically I resize with the largest dimension of width or height being 800 pixels. I also lower the resolution to about 90 to 100 pixels/inch
When you are on the Contest page, you will see a link on the left side of the page for upload. You can upload 2 photos per week into the contest, which runs Monday to Monday. I try to upload on Monday or Tuesday to get the most comments.
Good luck.

Oh, I just found out uploading was quite easy.
I am pretty new at this, so please do make lots of comments and constructive criticism, so I can learn and improve.

For web viewing, I think you'll find a res of 72dpi, jpg saved at 8 - 12. You really don't "see" a "better" photograph on the web saved at a higher res. You will however make your files larger (less room) and make it easier for someone to print your image if you save it larger than that.
For examples, please see my website, and know that all files are saved at 72 dpi, 800 on the "long side", quality jpg of 8.
