GE-branded digital cameras

D&H signs with General Imaging to offer stylish, feature-rich GE digital cameras
TORRANCE, Calif. (May 7, 2007) - General Imaging, the worldwide exclusive licensee for GE-branded digital cameras, announced today that D&H Distributing will distribute its products to photographic retailers, resellers and consumer electronics dealers throughout the United States.

Initial shipments of the stylish new digital camera line - the first to carry the GE brand - are shipping to D&H now. Cameras should be available to resellers by mid-May.

"D&H has an established, loyal customer base of retailers and resellers in digital cameras, computer products and consumer electronics, so we know it will do a good job of driving products to market through this base," said Hiroshi "Hugh" Komiya, chairman and CEO of General Imaging.

"Signing with an industry leader like D&H marks a major milestone for us in pushing the distribution channel in America. Soon we'll be in every corner of the market," said Rene Buhay, General Imaging vice president of sales, North America.

Michael Schwab, D&H's vice president of purchasing, said he was excited about the new camera line. "We're confident that GE cameras are going to be a solid seller, and D&H is thrilled to get on board so early in the brand's arrival on the market," he said. "We look forward to adding this high-quality family of products, strengthening our linecard for customers in the photographic and digital imaging space."

An independent new company based in Torrance, Calif., General Imaging unveiled eight GE-branded cameras on March 8 during PMA 07, the leading industry photographic trade show in Las Vegas.

Even at the entry level, the GE cameras include features one would expect from a much more expensive camera, starting with the A730's 7 megapixels of resolution, a 3x optical zoom, and a 2.5-inch LCD screen. Models at the higher end feature up to 12 megapixels, up to 12x zoom, and 3-inch screens. The GE cameras will range in price from $149 to $399.

All GE cameras boast sleek and intuitive design, plus a host of popular, advanced functions as standard features, including face detection, image stabilization, red-eye removal, minimum 1600 ISO sensitivity, and panoramic stitching. More information about GE cameras is available at www.ge.com/digitalcameras.

D&H Distributing is one of America's oldest and largest wholesale distributors of computer and consumer electronics products, with an impressive 89-year history serving as a trusted advisor to the reseller channel. D&H distributed the first-ever home computer, the first color television, and even the first gaming system.

D&H ships out of five separate locations, including its Harrisburg, Pa., headquarters, plus warehouses in Jacksonville, Chicago, Dallas and Fresno, CA. Call D&H toll-free at (800) 340-1001 or visit www.dandh.com.
