progression from 300d
Right, at the moment I am using a 300D which I have grown to know and love and am very pleased with the shots i get from it... BUT... I am doing a lot more printing nowadays and was thinking that something with full frame or maybe even just higher resolution. Bearing in mind I am printing up to 16"x24" in some cases and sometimes a little bigger. What would you guys recommend. i was lookin at the Canon 5D (i would prefer to stay with canon truthfully), but the 5D is really expensive, just wondered if anyone could recommend anything?
Thanks

How about the 400d, which is the xti.
I think if your happy with the 300d you should invest your money on a 400D. Buy the body only and invest on some good lenses. I have the 28-135 with image stabilization and love it. It is a strong camera with close to double the resolution yours has. I am personally waiting for the next model which might have 12-15 megapixels, which if the past is any indicator, should be released in about a year.

hmm.... thanks mate. appreciate the advice.
at the moment i'm runnin round with a 28-200mm usm (not IS though). I've been happy with the 300D, but i just had the feelin that i needed that bit more resolution now for the bigger prints, and you think the 400D is the way to go with it. So i'll have to have a good look at the 400D. Thanks for the advice.

canon 30 d
The last 3 years I used the 300d and have made a lot of beautiful pictures.
However3 weeks ago I bought the 30 d and a world opened for me!
Some pre's.
The fastest Canon Eos camera even faster than the s 5.
No use of parameters, you used the cathegory you want to shoot and the magnificent colours appear!
U do not need a flash. Iso from 100 up to 3200 without any noise!
Set the camera on sport and you can click so much different shots you want, fast as the movemenst of the sporter and each image sharp!
The body costs 940 Euro and you can used all the objectives from Canon, even with 18-55 kid lens, the result is amazing!
There are more posibilities, but read a review of 30 d, why a 350 or 400 d??

I'm hearing your request and everyone seems to recommend about the same camera you already have. Your looking for more resalution and full frame. All stated above are all still 1.6 crop. The 400D is not double the resaluton its only 2 mega pixel difference.
The 5D is a great camera but you still only get 3 frames per second but you have full frame and 12.7 Megapixel. I know you say its expensive but there is not really anything less expensive that is full frame and more resalution.
If you could afford it and was able to spring for a bit more cash, I would recommend a 1DS Markll. Yes very expensive but you get the resolution at 16.6 mega pixel and yes thats double than what you currently have. 4 frames per second and you can find them pretty reasonable on the used Market. Still more than the 5D.
In the end the 5D is about the only option you have. On the used Market you may be able to find one almost reasonable.
Or you could do like the other recommend and get the 400D and the Canon 10-22mm lens for wider angle. You don't need to spend thousands on a new camera body. you can always have your second body with the longer telephoto.
