Beginner Camera

Hi,

Its my first post here and in need of some advice.

I am looking for a point and shoot digital camera to be used only really for family photos etc.

I was looking at this one:

www.digitalcamera-market.co.nr/

(Click on the review on the left)

Thanks

I really like the Canon IS series. You can just point, and shoot away, plus you have the options most of the DSLR cameras have.

i don't really post as much as i read here. as a mod in another forum, i know what it's like to deal with newbies.

anyway - ditto the canon is series. i'm a fan of their powershot series, as well. before moving up to dslr, i used a powershot a40 for years. only 2mp, but the thing takes great photos and it's built like a tank. my 10 year-old son shoots with it now.

if i had to choose a point and shoot camera right now, i'd go for the powershot g7 or s3 is. i especially like the s3 as far as value for money is concerned.

If you are newbie in digital photography, you should read some "buying guide" topics (for example Digital Camera Buying Guide ) before you buy one! After that you have to read some digital camera review topics and then you are ready to buy your first camera!
