Question image size

I have posted a few pictures in here already, but I'm wondering what is an "ideal" size for posting? I was wondering if 750 x 600 is ok for 4:5 and maybe 750 x 500 for 2:3? I don't know if that's too big or not. Could you please give some advice. I'm planning on adding some photos to my gallery soon. Thanks, Lou

Lou, you're using my favorite Adams quotation. My second favorite is "the art of getting a good photograph is knowing where to stand." I may have paraphrased that but I think that is oh so true. And my own dime's worth is that the rule of thirds is not a rule, but a guidelines People get very hung up in that.

The Admin. of byte has some guidelines for posting but, basically, they say make the long side of your image 800. It's a good rule of thumb and seems to cause the least compression.

Welcome aboard!

Sheila
