coolpix 4300 "CF card cannot be read"

I got the error message in the subject after loading a card with photos from my computer to show some people some vacation photos through our TV. I tried multiple cards that I have, 128MB and 64MB.

I've shown photos taken with the camera through the TV that were already on the card. But, this is the first time I've tried simply loading the card and trying to show through the TV.

I don't have a card reader, I used the USB connection on the camera to load the photos. The photos were JPGs.

I don't *think* the cards are bad. As an experiment, I took 30+ random pictures and was able to successfully view those pictures. But after formatting the card and trying to load the pictures again, I get the error after just 2 or 3 pictures.

Anyone have an idea as to what's wrong? I'll probably learn how to burn a CD and use the DVD player after this, but I'd still like to know.

Thanks,
Mark.

Hi Mark,

I don't have the same model as yours and in my camera I had a different error. I was referred to a great tech support site and they help me find a solutions for my problems.

Thanks for the site Marcella. A quick search turned up one possibility. I'll have to take a look at the result and see if it applies.

Mark.

If you need a fast answer I will suggest the free live support. I am sure Fixya is not going to have this service for free for a long time...

Good luck
