Lens Bible?
Does this forum have a "Bible" section? I'm involved in a 4x4 forum or two and they have "Bible" sections that pertain to certain parts of the vehicle, IE tyres, suspansion etc etc. They've got a tonne of info in them and I'm looking into lens' now but I'm only a newbie (graduating from point and shoot to DSLR), and I'd love to be able to read all about what "Focal length" and F numbers are all about. And just what is meant by 18 - 125mm.
Any advise or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
HB.

I can answer the 18-125mm question
It just means 18mm (wide angle for larger view landscapes etc
up to 125mm zoom to move in closer to your subject.
I have a D70 and bought a 28-200mm lens and use it 95% of the time

OK, but these are the things that I'm trying to get my head around. So on the whole, where does 18mm fit in? For instance, I know that 15 inch wheels are about a standard size wheel on most early 4x4's. I know that 16 inch seems to be standard these days and I know why they're going with bigger wheels.
With lens'. I've got no idea what I'm looking at or for. I could fancy something that in the car world, could come off a little datsun 120y. Do you know what I mean?
