In this post it states'photos must be taken during the challenge period'--- in contest guidelines #4 says
• Photos can either be from a digital camera or scanned prints, slides or negatives. Photos don't necessarily need to be shot during the contest dates, they can be from the past or present...
So which is correct?

I’m sorry for any confusion..
The guidelines you are referring to are in relation to our 'weekly photo contest' .. and not our 'monthly photo challenge'
The submissions for the monthly need to photographed during the challenge dates

dattes
so why can't the dates be clearly stated-- there's nothing here to say beginning or closing date of acceptance-- and should be explicit regarding age of images or dates when images are shot--
all there is, is a sticky noting December Challenge open--
so if I post my still life from 29 November or 1 December, you will trash it because you posted on 3December with no opening or closing date noted?

Mary,
For clarity the dates of the current challenge are December 1st thru January 5th ..
Will we trash your image if its outside the dates .. NO … however for the photo to be considered as ‘challenge winner’ it needs to have been shot during the challenge dates …
we at our sole discretion may allow images that are shot outside the contest dates to remain posted .. this is done only to allow comment and critiques them .. they are not considered for the title of ‘challenge winner’
just an FYI you can find the closing date were its normally post the ‘category heading’
http://www.bytephoto.com/photopost/index.php?cat=555
Decembers Challenge is ‘Still Life’
where the photographer composes a photo using a variety of inanimate objects, such as food, fruit, flowers, wine glasses, or ordinary household items – be creative the opportunities are almost limitless – closes Jan 5th

Could someone point me to where we view the monthly challenge entries? I'm getting a little lost (and going round in circles).
Cheers.......HB.

dtill life
don't kill me yet
but you have my entries as dated 30 November, so they are outside your specified date. My computer came back from the shop 28th December as it died the day I posted the note and the entries--literally died.
may I enter two entries that have been shot within this time, 1 dec- 5 january, now? computer has been verifiably gone all this time from 13th December and I was finally able to offload camera on 30th January. I can send you the work order and receipt. you can also check my gallery and see that the last postings were 12 and 30th December. And if the entries must be between this date it is only logical that I should be able to make the resubmission.
and the actual dates were not given with your original announcement which seems crazy to me as a writer.
thank-you for not trashing the images.

it is very confusing. In the monthly challenge it says, the contest photos are to be taken and posted between 1st and 25 th of the month. Now in this forum it states differenly. -open untill jan 5th. Which is correct?
You have to give coorect information regarding the dates under Dec. monthly challenge.
Thanks
Lakshmi

December is not the current challenge. If you look at the date of the post it was for last year's.
You find information about the latest running challenges at the top of the monthly challenge forum >> here.
Links to this page are found at the top of the Monthly Challenge gallery page >> here.
Also you may find in the guidelines that it does mention that the challenge dates may differ.
Hope this clears up the confusion and look forward to seeing some photos in the challenge from you.
Click here for information about the current challenge.
