small question about nikon d50
With this camera, is there a way to set the lcd screen to live view mode?
Is this possible on ANY of the digital SLR's out there?
I've noticed on a couple that I look at that the only thing displayed on the screen is the menu controls, and there's no live view mode of what you're taking pictures of.
The reason I ask is that it's near impossible for me to look through the viewfinder and get a good look at what I'm taking a picture of, my eyes have never liked looking through something like that. Binoculars, telescopes, monoculars.

You may have better luck posting this in the Photographers Lounge..... I don't think these camera specific forums get a lot of traffic....
I do not have a D50, but my D70, D200, and D2X do not show a "live" mode on the LCD screen, so I'm assuming your D50 does not either. Be sure to adjust the diopter for your vision, and try an eyepiece if that doesn't help enough. I'm not sure any DSLR's have a live mode. That I think is a point and shoot thing.... not sure though. Try reading your manual, that could shed some light also......

Thanks alot for the reply
I never know where to post questions in new forums
I'm guessing you're right since the other models don't
I actually don't own the d50 yet, I've been trying to find a camera that I like first, the d50 has been the closest thing I've found.
I rarely use my viewfinder in my current camera. But I know that at times like my cousin will be using my camera, and I know he wouldn't like not having the live view mode
thanks for the reply
=)

none of the digital slrīs will have a live review feature. i donītīknow much about the technical stuff but with the way a slr works (with the mirror), it cannot have the live review. sorry, but i canīt really explain it since i did not understand it when it got explained to me, i only know it does ot work. :-)
hope that helps you.
