Nikon’s COOLPIX L5: quality and functionality combined for professional results

Amsterdam, the Netherlands: Nikon Corporation is has unveiled the COOLPIX L5, the latest in their line-up of entry-level compact digital cameras, which offers extreme user-friendly operation without compromising quality of the end-product.

A generous 7.2 megapixels produces images with great picture clarity, which can be fully appreciated on the bright 2.5in LCD with backlight. The powerful, 38-190mm Zoom-Nikkor lens (35mm equivalent) ensures matchless compositional freedom, from zooming in for intimate personal portraits to zooming out for expansive outdoor scenes. Lens shift Vibration Reduction (VR) technology allows the user to make the most of 5x zooming. While the dimensions of the model are surprisingly compact, it is usefully compatible with the universally-available AA size batteries.

The COOLPIX L5 makes it simple to get great-looking results in challenging situations. Three unique in-camera Nikon image innovations adjust the image, detecting and correcting imperfections: Face Priority AF** automatically detects and achieves sharp focus on people’s faces wherever they are in the frame; In-Camera Red-Eye Fix automatically overcomes the red-eye effect sometimes caused by flash; and D-Lighting makes it possible to rescue underexposed images or shots taken with too much back-light.

In fact, the COOLPIX L5 makes it so easy to capture high-quality images in any situation that any amateur can create images that Rankin would be proud of. The user simply selects one of 15 different Scene modes which most resembles the subject at hand, and the camera will automatically adjust its settings to optimize on the current conditions.

COOLPIX L5, offers movier recording with sound in three modes – one standard, one large for TV, one small for the internet or extended recording.

Nikon further justify their reputation for user-friendliness with the PictBridge capability, which enables direct connection to compatible printers without the need for a computer. Complementary PictureProject software simplifies the importing, editing and organization of your images.
