Yes pretty much, i believe there are some software upgrades and a few enhancements from the w1 and w5, to the w7. But not that would be amazingly noticeable.
For what it is, a high end point and shot, it will do for learning and taking good pictures, if you want a major increase in your photos from either you would have to start considering buying a Dslr, and lenses.
If the difference in price inst much then why not, go for the w7, but if it means splashing out for something which is only a few mp more then dont bother, save for a pro cam.
Also not sure how you missed this site its top of google.
