Smile B&W with color editing

I am just learning Adobe Photoshop 6.0. Does anyone know how to take a color digital pic and convert it to B&W
except for the flowers to be in color. For example, a bride and groom in B&W but the boquet in color.

Thanks,
Shan75

A simple way is to make a duplicate layer. In the duplicate, select the flowers. Then invert the selection so that the non-flowers part is what is selected. Then go to the color tools and find the "Desaturate" menu item.

If you get what you are looking for, flatten the image and save to a new file name.

If you don't like the result, delete the duplicate layer and start over.
