Canon xt vs Canon G

I had an older Reble G with sigma lens. Why want this lens work on my new Digital Rebel??? Thanks.

The reason is the chip or circuitry of the older lens is not compatable with the newer Canon designs. If Sigma still makes this lens, they will rechip it at no cost so that it will.
