I have had my C340 since the beginning of this year, the camera does produce good quality pictures for its price and very easy to use though I personally have had a very ruff time with it and problems along with Kodaks service. I regret ever going with Kodak and will never touch them again, cant wait till I upgrade.
Here are a few problems I have had
-battery life is poor, it leaves approx 20-30% life in the batteries and claims they are dead. batteries used energizer NIMH 2500 mah rechargeable (4 dif sets) also Kodaks own brand of batteries were much worse (non recharge)
-audio recording is terrible (video part seems ok enough but low FPS), I had the C330 before (I upgraded within the 30 days) and sound was so much better on the C330. on the C340 sound crackles badly and the recorded sound is not accurate at all
-little over a month ago my camera now has a lot of trouble firing, it focuses and when you press further to shoot it doesn't and just tries to refocus or does nothing, takes several attempts at times, more so in low-light
-I have already gone through 4 returns for both the c330/340 and I am in need of doing a 5th and Just haven't bothered yet pretty fed up with Kodaks poor build quality & service.
On top of that Kodak wants me to pay for shipping (well within warranty) and send them the camera, plus batteries and my charger (absolutely ridiculous) so basically I have to do with out all my portable electronics for well they say 2 weeks, guessing longer. Which was the last straw and I have given up on trying to fix this for now.
few minor things but to be expected with cheaper models
-very high noise shooting at ISO 400
-not the best in low-light conditions
-the ok/enter button is very small and can be hard to press especially if you have larger fingers or shooting in the winter and have gloves on
-bootup time is pretty slow
-the PC does not recognize the camera as a storage device so the kodak easyshare software is a must to be installed (and I much prefer other software) and use to get the photos unless you have a mem card reader
will leave it at that, but like i said it does take good quality pictures for the price and simple to use but its far more hassle then its worth and Kodaks service does not help things
I defiantly would not recommend the C line of Kodaks cameras and Kodak it self by my experience with them and other horror stories I have read after seeking info on other forums
But perhaps I am just extremely unlucky and keep getting flawed replacements, here is my site with plenty of photos taken with the C340, the ones form dec 2005 are with the c330
