Question Kit lens (EFS 18-55mm) & Canon EFS 60mm macro?

I'm thinking of selling my 300D and getting a 350D. I'm trying to decide if I should sell my 300D AND kit lens and just get just the 350D black body. Are these two lenses similar...the Canon kit lens EFS 18-55mm and the Canon EFS 60mm macro? I know the one is a macro lens also but wouldn't they serve the same function when being used as an everyday lens or portrait lens? Is there a need for both?

Thanks!

Canon EF-S 18-55mm is a cheap lens. It exhibits barrel distortion on the wide end of the focal length range. The EF-S 60 mm designed specifically for Digital SLR's with its EF-S lens mount and provides and equivelant field of view of approximately 96 mm and a true 1:1 macro magnification ratio. This is also compact and light weight.

In my opinion, sell the kit lense and keep the 60mm Macro. Then buy the 17/85 mm IS USM medium range telescope. These two lenses will take you a long way until you are hungry for more.
