EF 75-300mm f4/5.6 USM MK3 - Good/Bad?

Hi there,

I'm still quite new to the world of photography so I was looking for some advice. I have a Canon EOS 350D camera and I was looking for a more powerful lens than I have at present.

At the moment I have an EFS 18-55mm lens and I was looking at buying the Canon EF 75-300mm f4/5.6 USM MK3. Before I go out and blow £170 on it I wanted to know if this lens is any good or if there is a better option.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Andy

The lens you are inquiring about is a good lens, but there are always options for others. Just depends on how large your budget is.

Thanks for your reply,

I'd probably looking to spend no more than £200. Are there other lenses out there that are better?

Cheers,

Andy

Well I'm guessing right now, but in US dollars that's almost $400, and in the State you can pick up a used Canon 70-200mm f4 L series lens for that price.

When I first started to upgrade, I went with used equipment and it made the "upgrade process" a whole lot easier to afford.
