Mars....finally #1
Well, I finally got some reasonably clear skies.
I hope to get some more in the next couple of weeks and improve on clarity.

Bud,
What are you using as a telescope? I see you are branching out from your previous line of photographs. How much longer will Mars be close enough to get a good photo?

Ed.....the scope is a Celestron Ultima 2000 8"...and the Nikon 5700
Mars should still be good for shooting for another month or so.....it will be at it's closest tomorrow night......
We still have high clouds....I'm hoping for some clear skies...we'll see.

Buds Mars Photo got me looking around and for those interested
discovery channel has some good info
http://dsc.discovery.com/news/afp/20030825/marspic.html
and here is nasa
http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/mer/
from nasa site quote: August 27 marks the closest that Mars and Earth have been since nearly 60,000 years ago, when the Neanderthals lived! Mars won't be this close again until 2287. Imagine what life on Earth...and maybe Mars...might be like then

Hi Bud,
This should be the big night. I hope that you were able to get some good shots of Mars.
