Which camera to buy
Hi all this is my first time posting on the forum so not sure if I got the right section, I was hoping for advice on which camera to buy as I feel it's time for me to upgrade.
I bought the Minolta Dimage Z3 when it first came out and was very happy with my photos but I'm starting to think I need a camera with more MP.
The kind of photos I like to take are of wildlife (so a good zoom is good or at least a camera which will allow me to purchase better lenses for it), sport (often take photos at the football) and macro photos as I have many pet bugs and run a giant millipede website.
Here are a few samples of the kinds of photos I'm getting just now, I'm starting to feel the colour of them are not too great and of course I'd love more zoom capability along with an increased image quality...

Maybe it'd help if I put my budget in at £400-£600, I was thinking along the lines of the Nikon coolpic 8800 or the Fuji finepix S9500 or the Minolta Dimage A200 though there seems to be more lens attachments for the Minolta.

SLR
Hi Crunchie,
Your budget is good enough to buy an SLR camera like Canon EOS 350D (USD800). If you like a high zoom you can also try and check-out Canon S3 IS or the Kodak Z612. You can use the site www.dpreview.com as a reference.

I would totally recommend anything in the Pentax DSLR line like the ist DL which for $600 us dollars is a great deal for the money. PLus unlike other DSLR's you can buy almost any old Pentax lens and it will work on it so finding a great telephoto or large zoom lens for about $50 is very possible. Good luck and yes DPreview is a great site and it's what I used to make my final decision.

Hi
I recently bought the Fuji S9500 and its fabulous. The photos are great with crisp clear colours, no noise until you get to about ISO 1600, and a great zoom.
I decided on this over a DSLR mainly because of the dust problems on the sensor when changing lenses on a DSLR.
The fuii has the full set of features you would expect from a DSLR and I cant recommend it highly enough.
Happy choosing and good luck with your choice!
Dawn

Kodak Z612 has 12X optical zoom lens featuring image stabilization. High resolution 2.5 in. (6.4 cm) color display
Digital camera battery and charger included. Simple to use video features. It has advanced settings and custom modes.
