Canon lense
I'm looking for a Canon lense for shooting painted sculptures that hang on the wall and stick out from the wall 15-20 inches. All are around 3x3 feet.
There is a range of surfaces, shiny and dull, paint and fabric. Most important, there is a great deal of tiny detail that I want to capture.
I was thinking that the TS-E 90mm f/2.8 would give me control over the depth of field and pick up detail.
Any advice would help, including lense alternatives.

90mm is kind of long. You will have to be 12 to 15 feet or more away of the image to get it all in frame. I would think you need somthing on the midrange end. Say the Canon 50mm f1.4 depending how close you are able to get to the image or how far you will be from the image. If your able to get close then the Sigma 30mm f1.8 may be good too. I got the 50mm because its inbetween the 85mm and 28mm range.
