s5500 grainy images

had the s5500 for a couple of weks now just been trying to figure it out getting to know what is what......

they is one thing that is bugging me more than anything..... when i upload an images into photoshop and view it full size they always seems to be a very bad grain acroos the whole of the image.

is their any way of solving this problem. e.g changing a particular setting.
