Problem with SD Card
I have a Toshiba 1GB SD Card for my digital camera. I was using the card with card reader when for some reason I could not read it because the card reader was faulty. Then I put it on another card reader and it worked fine.
When I tried to use it again on my Kodak camera it said: Cannot read memory card, memory card needs format. Then I push accept but nothing happens.
The memory card is fine on card reader.
What should i do?

If the memory card needs a format, do it. You can format the card in camera, it's in your menu somewhere. I don't know your particular camera so I can't really be more clear. Give that a try, see if it works.

you need to have the card in the camera and scroll through the menue in your camera and find where the option is to format your card, do that and......all should be ok after that.

Yes I am formatting the card with the card reader. It does not let me format the card in the camera. When I open the camera it tells me card needs formatting. Then i push ok but the card does not get formatted and I get the message the card needs formatting again.

Formatting
You really have to format your card IN your camera. Read your manual to see how. Usually you go to a symbol such as tools - then scroll to format. If you don't have a manual, find one online for your camera.
It's the only way to format - can't be done in a card reader.

But did you try a card that has been formatted in that camera?

If you did not do it this way then you did not format the card in the camera..
Install card.
Turn on camera.
No matter what is says on the screen when you first turn it on, ignore it.
Next
Push on the MENU button
Scroll down to SETUP MENU
Go into the setup menu
Scroll down to where is says
FORMAT
Then scroll to MEMORY CARD
Scoll and click on continue.
Then if you like you can format the internal memory.
If you have not done that, you have not formatted the card in the camera.

Ok, here we go again.
I open the camera
then it shows the message: the memory card cannot be read, please format the card, and it has 2 options continue or cancel.
- If i press continue it says: are you sure? (ok or cancel). If i press cancel it returns to the previous message. If i press ok it says Formatting... and after 2 seconds it returns to the original message: memory card cannot be read, please format the card.
- If I press cancel it says: memory card cannot be read please use a different card. Then whatever button you press nothing happens.
SO I CANNOT GO TO THE MENU SECTION even if I want to.
After I tried a different card (which also used to work finem, without formatting) I get the same message.
Also note that apart from that the camera works fine with the internal memory.

Sorry...........we were just trying to help. I have no idea why you posted the question when you already know what your problem is. Contact KODAK they have an outstanding warranty system.
