Photography Basics

Ok basically is there any place where i can get the basics on what different settings in the camera actually do, like a sort of how to guide if you will

i am new to this, and pretty much us auto for everything lol

as far as aperture, shutter speed (which i get kinda) iso and other stuff

how do u know what to set stuff for certain pictures, like for the moon and say i wanted to take a picture of water, or a close up of a leaf or anything, i need basic advise so i am not taking 100 pictures of the same thing until one comes out good lol
