Well, astroman, my advice if this is your first SLR of any type (film or digital) is to go with the 350D which was built specifically for new users but still giving you all the manual controls to grow into as you learn more, as well as full auto of course --- plus you'll have that smashing wide- angle/telephoto zoom lens which will give you far more photo opportunities than the standard kit lens of the 20D which frankly, for someone new to digital SLRs, is a bit 'over the top' as a first buy. However, if you are no stranger to SLR photography (you may bee a seasoned film SLR user for all I know) then much of what I've said does not apply to you. Personally, if I was an SLR 'virgin' faced with that choice, I'd get the 350D with that much more exciting 17-200mm lens!
