Westinghouse Digital Expands Digital Photo Frame Line with New Sizes and Features; LCD Frames Accept Multiple Digital Camera Memory Cards; Frames Display PC-Free Slideshow and Stills of Digital Photos
Westinghouse Digital Electronics, one of the top five LCD TV manufacturers in the U.S.(1), today announced its new 3.5-, 7- and 8-inch Digital Photo Frames (models DPF-0351, DPF-0701 and DPF-0801), which join the company's market-leading 5.6-inch Digital Photo Frame and allow multiple digital photographs to be displayed in a single frame.
The LCD displays feature attractive frames to match home or office decor and make excellent gifts for displaying wedding photos, birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, photos of loved ones, and other special events. The frames allow consumers to create a slideshow or view individual digital snapshots by simply plugging in a digital camera memory card or downloading images from a PC's hard drive via a USB port.
"Nearly 60 million American households(2) own a digital camera but often their photos are not printed and are locked in a computer hard drive or memory card," said Rey Roque, vice president of marketing at Westinghouse Digital Electronics. "Westinghouse LCD TVs, monitors and Digital Photo Frames provide consumers with a means to conveniently display their electronic photo library."
The DPF-0801 incorporates a bright, wide-viewing-angle panel with high pixel density VGA quality 640 x 480 resolution that features extensive memory card compatibility, including CF I/II, MS, MS Pro, SD, MMC, and XD. Mini SD, MS Pro Duo and MS Duo can be used through an adapter, sold separately.
The DPF-0701 features a 16:9 widescreen panel compatible with an emerging class of widescreen digital cameras. The 7-inch frame can also display two wallet-size photos side-by-side, landscape photos and bordered 4:3 photos.
The DPF-0351 features a stylish white matte inside the ebony frame, accepts CF I/II, MS, SD, MMC and XD memory cards and weighs less than a pound for easy wall mounting or setting on a nightstand, mantle, desk, or coffee table.
With 8MB internal memory, all models can store up to approximately 100 images and are among the only digital photo frames currently on the market accepting the XD memory card. The Digital Photo Frames are designed to be compatible with new frame styles available in the future.
Using the control keypad on top of the frame, consumers can advance pictures one at a time, or view the menu setup by pressing the "menu" button. Thumbnail mode allows users to preview all photos stored on the card or in the internal memory to select a specific photo for display. From the setup, users can choose the speed of the slideshow, as well as select a variety of slideshow transition effects between images.
The DPF-0351 has an estimated retail price of $119, the DPF-0701 has an estimated retail price of $199 and the DPF-0801 has an estimated retail price of $279.
