Cannot locate pics on computer ..
I just got my new Olympus 8080 about 2 weeks ago. It came with a 32 MB xD card. I installed Camedia Master 4.2 but never even used it. Everything was great.. I bought a 256 MB card the other day ( CF from Kodak ) and started snapping away.. Went to download my pics and for some reason cant locate my pics. The camera shows as an E drive on my computer. On the E drive there is a folder called DCIM or something like that, when I click on that it takes me to another folder called 999OLY or something like that. Well that folder shows empty.. So I decided to try my Camedia software... When I select get picture from camera it gives me an error message stating "Cannot locate US Device for Olympus Digital Camera" something to that effect..
I even went as far as formatting my CF card thinking maybe since I never did that it would help. It erased my pics I took today which I knew would happen..After doing some research and going to the Olympus website & still w/o any luck I believe I may need a card reader to bypass this ? Any suggestions or advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Well, it sounds like they were downloaded somewhere. Try going to start>search> then search for .jpg files. You should be able to find them that way.

It sounds like you are doing a search on your CF card and not your hard drive.
open explorer and go to the root of C
to to search
Search by any or all of the criteria below
type in the text
*.jpg
also go to advance search and make sure you have search subfolders checked.
and hit search.
Any jpg file on your hard drive will show up.
Dont format your card again just in case they are there still.
your search has to find some kind of jpg file on your hard drive

So I found out why it wouldn't work
Thanks everyone for trying to help. This morning after many hours of frustration I decided to call Olympus support. After dicussing my problem with the support tech and trying many different methids it worked.. The fix was very simple..too simple. She asked me to remove my xD card, connect the USB again and turn on camera in view mode.. Sure enough it worked. Apparently my computer got confused because there was two different cards, that was her explanation anyways.
I'm relieved but wish I didn't have to spend so much time and ended up erasing my pictures !
