something rattling
There is something rattling inside my camera. The camera still works fine. Should I be worried about it? The camera is a Easyshare C340.

So you don't think I should worry about it? This is my first digital camera. I was just making sure. What do you think it is?

It's nothing to be worried about. The rattle you're hearing is a sensor inside the camera that detects wheather the camera is in the vertical or horizontal position.

Seems kind of funny that they would not dampen the sound of the vertical/horizontal sensor.

I also have the C340 and it too rattles
the camera it self works fine other then I have battery life issues (claims they are dead with 30% power left) also battery life indicator issues and also the sound recording is just **** poor extremely bad cracking act.
I had 3 C330 with various issues before I upgraded to the c340 in hopes would solve my problems, and I never had this audio problem with the previous model. .
I have tried to deal with Kodak to get my C340 repaired but they want me to do with out the cam for 2 weeks (I use it daily) plus pay for shipping it to them (only lil over a month old) and they even want me to send in my batteries and charger.. So pay more on shipping and have to do with out my other portable electronics for 2 weeks or so.
Sorry for going off topic but not happy at all with Kodaks support, and poor build quality. after 4 exchanges and still needing a 5th I just refuse to do it any more, will live with what I have till I upgrade later this summer and will leave Kodak far behind me.
Other then those issues though the C340 seems to be a decent little performer in taking pictures for the price. And as far as the rattling seems to be a common issue so wouldn’t worry about it much.
Curious to know if other C340 users also have these battery issues and sound troubles as well. for my batteries I use 4 sets of brand new energizer NiMH 2500 mAh along with there new 30 min quick charger.
I have other high drain devices that have no problems with them and I can get plenty of use out of them even after the Kodak cam says they are dead and won’t turn on.

Thats very odd..............I have never known KODAK to leave anyone without a camera. The way I had it happen to me is they sent me a new camera with a waybill to ship my disabled camera back to them. I had a replacement rig delivered in 5 days from my first contact with them. They only use one shipper from what I understand. Now here is the kicker. When I asked at DP Review and Steves forum thats just what KODAK had done for anyone that replyed that had to warranty a KODAK. I guess they changed the way they do business just for you. Then you get into build quality. I do not hear to many people having a problem with KODAKs build quality.
