Digital Cameras,Watchout for flash voltage

Digital Cameras,Watchout for flash voltage

I purchased a cannon 20 D last year. The sales men told
me it would work fine with my Excalibur Lighting.

I called Cannon first, they told me that much of the External flash equiptment will burn my Cannon 20 D out ,that is if I were to attach it directaly to the Flash Kit.

What you need is a voltage reducer, Please call the manufacture before buying one. The dealer tried to sell me a cheaper one ,it only filtered the voltage from spikes,it did not lower the voltage to my Cannon recomended voltage.

I ended up finding one that will lower the voltage and not cause my switch contacts to burn out.

Even if your camera works it could still be burning the camera internal switch every time you take a photo.Over time it could burn out.
Keep the voltages in your digital camera comb. flash to manafactures specs.
