Byte Photo World Map.. check it out
Hey Everyone.
Another photo site I am on set up a map for everyone to post their pin of where they live on this earth.
Everyone seemed to get involved and loved it.
I created one for Byte Photo thinking everyone here would have a good time adding themselves on the map.
Gives a sense of community

join in
more than 17 view and only myself and sheilia signed up?
Come on people
If you put in your zipcode or area, it adds a flag to the general area that you live, not the exact street. It put me next to a country club, wouldnt that be nice LOL

Ruth, first map thing is interesting.
I made a new map for a site gardening site I go to a lot and we have 15 markers in already.
It's a lot of fun and there's something about seeing all of those markers on the map that remind one of how big this county is and how diverse.

glad you find it interesting Sheila, I thought the same.
The other website I'm on, over 70 have signed up and people are finding they are online photographers not too far from one another. They are even thinking to have a get together lol
I thought about creating one for my maiden name since everyone in the world as far as I know is all distantly related from all the research i have done to date. I'll have to see if I can get all the family members involved

Ruth, why don'[t you popt a photograph of somewhere your town and post it in the contest and put in a note about the map?
Or suggest to the admin.people here at byte that they might like to give you permission to post a brief note?
This is such an international project. The only thing I've found on the site I posted it to is that p people are a little leery of letting on the exact town so if anyone has such a problem they could post to the nearest large town or city.
So you're related to the everyone eh? Well, hello Cousin Ruth
Sheila

I think that's cool! I added a picture, but it isn't popping up when you click on the pin of the map, like some member are...
Great idea!

LOLOL. I meant everyone with my maiden name is related to me
I met a number of them and keep in contact by email with some as well, even a family in Germany keeps in touch with me. Its kinda cool
If someone is leary of posting their name, they could just use their first name or their byte name, no last names are required.
Actually I posted a picture of my town on the map, but might post one or two tonight that I took early Saturday morning. I got so many I;m having a hard time knowing which to post
I posted a byte logo on the map because I think it was Paul who left the link to the byte logo in a post titled "promote bytephoto"
I'm going to pm both of them eventually but I just got 2 more offers tonight to be published again in NJ 1 for an event, the other for an advertisement for a local restaurant near a mill you have seen me post here
I'm trying to stay awake so I can get it done before I doze off
I noticed the new adds to the map, glad its growing

melody, let me go see if I see the picture to make it show up. Are you sure the picture wasnt beyone a meg? I think thats the limit.
Do you want me to delete and you can add it again? I see the picture on the list but it doesnt come up on the map. I'm thinking its too large for the smaller version

I had suspected that size was the problem , as at first i uploaded it huge, it didn't tell me anything...so i uploaded again the byte size version,,,and it just came up in that one photo area. Go ahead and try!
I'll check in tom. and see what happens. Thanks.
