Help! Sony DSC-S90 v Canon Power Shot A520

Hi everyone!

I'm doing some research for my technophobic flatmate who is buying her parents their first digital camera for Xmas. Her budget is £150.

I seem to have focussed on the Sony DSC-S90 (£148 from Amazon) as it ticks all the boxes and I think her parents will love the large LCD it shows off. What I'm worried about is that the Cannon Power Shot A510 (3MP, £134 from Dabs) and A520 (4MP, £140 from various) seem always to top the best buy lists (and the Sony seems absent despite all the reviews being very positive) Am I ok to recommend the Sony do you think? And does anyone have a view on whether the camera prices might reduce before xmas (yes, I know, wishful thinking!). Thanks for reading.
