It looks like your flash is dropping off. Try zooming in a little and this will probably take care of your problems. I have the Canon Powershot G3 and the flash is not the most powerful nor can it take ultra wide angle shots. When you shoot wide, the flash just can't cover the entire distance and you are getting the drop off. Also, if your flash is like mine, it's on the far left side of the camera and somtimes has the tendency to hit the lens slightly at which would cause the shadow at the bottom right side of the image.
If you had an external Canon Speedlite, you also wouldn't have this problem either because the flash would be off of the camera in this case and able to better cover the distances whether you were shooting wide or not.
