Question Lumix FZ5 Resolution

Let's just start by saying that I am very new to digital photography.
I have been editing lots of photos from my Lumix FZ5. When I click on 'image details' in Photoshop, it says that every photo has a resolution of only 72 dpi. I thought that most digital cameras take photos at 200-300 dpi. I can't find any setting on the camera to change resolution (and changing image size and quality on the camera makes no difference), so do I have a substandard camera, or is this an issue with importing the photos into photoshop?

Is this even anything I need to be concerned about? Am I totally confused about the definition of resolution? Thanks!

I'd go right to Panasonic and not wait for an answer here. They most likely have a FAQ forum on the web or they web site might have a place you an email and get an instant reply.

It's Photoshop. They display at 72 dpi but look at the dimensions--I bet it's a huge photo - 25 to 50 inches.

Go to Image>Image size and lower the dimensions and raise the dpi to keep the total pixels on a side the same.
