Powershot A95 custom power supply

Hello there.
I wonder if any one has used a non-standard external power supply (AC/DC adapter) for a Canon PowerShot A95.
I want to know several things things.
First, the polarity of the DC jack.
(Canon guys did a good job at not publishing it anywhere, neither in the docs nor on the camera body, so one trying to make a custem power supply would fry his camera with a 50% chance).
Second, whether the camera will work ok without any harmful consequences off a standard 4.5 V DC stabilized power source.
Third, what peak current does it draw?
