why is my printer printing image too LARGE???

Hello all. I have an Epson 2200 and I use Photoshop CS. When I crop an image to an 11x14, it prints up as a 13x20. I've never had this problem before! I don't know if the problem is with my printer or with Photoshop. I checked my images size on photoshop and it verified that it was cropped to an 11x14. Anybody know why it is printing TOO BIG?

thanks!
tiffanyh

Well, I can't address the problem directly, but I can offer a couple of suggestions:

  • You might need to pay attention to the DPI settings when you print. Make sure you are printing at the DPI of your printer.
  • I load my images into Microsoft Publish and print them from there. That way I have fairly precise control of how the image will be printed (i.e. image size on the paper, paper size, margins, etc.) This also makes it easier for me to title my images or add discriptions, borders, and such. You can do the same with Word but with less ease.

Another option is to make sure in the "printer dialog" that you have NOT selected "fit to paper". If you're using a larger that 11x14 media, then select "fit to paper", the print will enlarge on-the-fly. Hope this helps.
