Date SHowing on Prints
Can someone tell me how to have the DATE the photo was taken show on the face of prints taken by an Olympus 5500. I'd like to find some setting so the camera ALWAYS prints the date. It is a snap on a Sony, but I can not find it even in the Advanced CD info. Many thanks for your help.

Date on Prints with Olympus
Don:
I have the same problem with my Olympus 5500. If you print the pictures yourself on your printer, you can add the date using the Olympus software that came with the camera. However, this will not work if you get your picutures developed at Wal-mart, or other developing business. I emailed Olympus concerning this and received a reply. They said that Olympus does not make provisions for adding the date to digital pictures. I have been looking for a software program that does this, but so far have not been successful. If you find one, please let me know.
Best Regards

When buying anything that costs more than a few bucks, always make sure it's got the features you want before getting it --- if in doubt, ask someone first! Actually, I'm very surprised that every digicam doesn't have this feature since it costs hardly anything to provide it, so it's not surprising if you took it for granted when you bought it, I prob would have done the same!

I really dont know why you would want the date o a photo. If you ever take a picture that you feel is something you want to frame.. you end up with that darn date on picture
I would just print the photo without the date actually on the picture itself but type in the date and have it appear below the photo as a title in the white border section. I think most printers allow you to type in a title as you are sending it to print
Not many people use the date on the photos these days. It was just a cool feature when it came out many years ago. But once its there you cant take it off without cutting out part of the picture that you may not want to crop off.
I name all my picture files with the date it was taken.. i.e.
Lake_2006-01-12.jpg
that way I always know when it was taken even if I lose the exif data for the file.
